DOG BEHAVIOUR

DEALING WITH INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOURS!

When dogs display ”inappropriate” behaviours that their owners do not understand it can be very distressing for both owners and their dogs. This is especially so when they have no idea of how to deal with the situation.

Behaviours might include:

Aggression towards other dogs
Fear of loud noises
Fear of car travel
Separation Anxiety
Resource Guarding
Excessive Barking
House Training Issues
Fears/Phobias

THE SOLUTION

HOW CAN JAN HELP?

Jan is a fully qualified canine counsellor and her aim is to explore why the dog is behaving in a particular manner.

This involves meeting both owner and dog, obtaining a full history of the dog including any medical conditions and observe the dog in the environment in which the behaviour occurs.

Working with the owner and very often in conjunction with their vet, Jan will endeavour to help the owner understand why the behaviour is occurring and what course of action to take.

This is normally followed with a comprehensive, detailed written report together with a behavioural modification plan.

Depending on the situation, it may be necessary to have only one consultation and follow up support via email or telephone. However, cases vary and additional visits to the client may be required.
